Welcome to Weight Management for Life

Who am I?

Hi, Martin John, I'm a Solo father of four, and I started gaining weight when I hit 40...

One day I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw... I had a fat face... a double chin...and a fat gut...Me? Fat? What the hell happened? I had always been mister skinny 76kgs worked out regular, then over time this face I saw in the mirror magically appeared out of nowhere hehe. At the peak of my weight gain I weighted 104 kgs which may not be much to some but to me it was not a pretty sight.

Always short of breath... couldn't touch my toes...couldn't see my toes...couldn't play with my children for long...low self esteem I was a Mess!

That's when I decided to make a radical lifestyle change, not only for myself but also for the sake of my children and grandchildren.

What I'm talking about is not only the excess weight that has magically appeared around our waist, on our butt or under your chin lol... the weight I'm talking about is the Mental, Emotional, Psychological Weight we carry around in our sub-conscience mind every day of our lives, that has accumulated up over the years in our minds eye by default this can be a heavier burden to bear than our physical weight.

We have all been programmed, conditioned, brainwashed even to believe what we were taught to believe, either directly or indirectly by our upbringing our environment parents, friends, family, teachers, work mates so the list goes on, and although they all meant well they didn't know any better.

The thing you can Recondition yourself and it doesn't have to take years. Research shows that it take 21 days to establish a new habit, Tony Robbins teaches a technique called neuro-associative conditioning or NAC so the tools and technowledge are out there, checkout Youtube all his stuff is available for Free.

Interestingly though Tony was part of the NLP community, he challenged conventional wisdom of the day regarding the amount of time it should take to treat a patient. He wanted to do it instantly they said it couldn't be done...the rest as they say is His story...

"Your Past Does Not Equal Your Future"...Tony.

Why?

I'm doing it because I want to have a positive impact on other peoples live's... change people's perspective and provide value...by sharing what I am learning the good the bad and the ugly...Lol

On my journey to self-discovery, I asked myself... Why? Why do I procrastinate? Why aren't I happy with my body? Why do I start an exercise program then stop? Why don't my children listen?-Why am I angry?-Why am I Depressed? Why???...I discovered part of it was my self image, old beliefs, and old life experiences that was affected my ability to take action.

What I have learnt and am continuously learning on my journey I have decided to share with the world in the hope that if I can help just one person, I have achieved my purpose in live.

My first step was personal development to get my head right first while working on my physical well being at the same time.

So I did Tony Robbins program...Personal Power, ( love Tony he's crazy) and his and other's courses, started follow other top speakers Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Jack Canfield, Bob Proctor,  Les Brown (love Les his laugh is hard case) and Dan Lok.

I still do personal development stuff today its a habit I developed its a part of me... one of my favorite quotes is

"You Can Get Everything in Life You Want if You Help ...Other People Get What They Want"..Zig Ziglar

Cool aye...

I Love Reading.

I love reading... I read a lot, and during my troubled youth I would read a lot of fiction to escape my hash... the reality that I would never have super powers hehe.

Over the years I turned to non-fiction to self-help books, psychology, autobiographies, business, sales, marketing, copyright, and yes weight management books (just recently) to help answers to question that bugged me.

You can't beat a good book, the feel of it in your hands, the smell of a new book fresh off the presses or shelf, or the excitement you feel when you find something special in a second-hand bookstore yes I love the op shops.

The life experience wisdom knowledge and wealth of information you can find in the pages of a book is priceless,  you get to explore the minds of others, delve into the minds of successful people, positive people, people who have overcome everest like obstacles to succeed and see how they think, feel what they feel, and how they dealt with life's challenges...there is much success in a multitude of counsels...Proverbs 11:14

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...It's All Small Stuff...

I may not be perfect, but I am happy..80% of the time, and the other 20% well I'm only human and I manage four wonderfully challenging children whom I love with all my Heart. They are my motivation... My Why!!

I have come to realize that Happiness cannot be found in a book or in a manual or from anyone else, I am responsible for My happiness... Happiness is not a destination it is a way of Life!

“OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS NOT THAT WE ARE INADEQUATE. OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS THAT WE ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE. IT IS OUR LIGHT, NOT OUR DARKNESS, THAT MOST FRIGHTENS US. YOUR PLAYING SMALL DOES NOT SERVE THE WORLD. THERE IS NOTHING ENLIGHTENED ABOUT SHRINKING SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WON'T FEEL INSECURE AROUND YOU. WE ARE ALL MEANT TO SHINE AS CHILDREN DO. IT'S NOT JUST IN SOME OF US; IT IS IN EVERYONE. AND AS WE LET OUR OWN LIGHTS SHINE, WE UNCONSCIOUSLY GIVE OTHER PEOPLE PERMISSION TO DO THE SAME. AS WE ARE LIBERATED FROM OUR OWN FEAR, OUR PRESENCE AUTOMATICALLY LIBERATES OTHERS.”....Marianne Williamson

Man, I Love that Quote.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy life to read this far, appreciate it 🙂

Peace Out! Marty
